When I was very young and still living in Saskatchewan with my parents I had a dream about these two unusual people. I remember in my dream that they were very friendly. Agnes smoked but I didn’t want to put that in the painting.
About ten years ago I was talking to a friend about this couple and the dream I had about them. He suggest that I draw or paint them and bring them to life. So I asked him what theme I should use and he said American Gothic style…
Whimsy Cats
Whimsy Cats is an acrylic painting I did a few years ago. They were so much fun to create. When I create these playful felines it always puts me in a good mood!
I plan on making these into prints and cards and maybe some mugs or throw pillows.
Sebastian
Sebastian is a 36″ x 48″ acrylic on canvas I did around 2010.
Sebastian lives on the edge of Cat City (another painting that I did). He is sitting at home on his wing back chair enjoying a snack before venturing off to Cat City to do who knows what.
Cat City is where all the naughty cats go to frolic and play under the light of the moon.
Love cats
Acrylic on canvas of two cats enjoying the full moon night together.
I mostly do very intricate artwork and my husband is always telling me to just do some more simple work. I find this difficult to do because I am very intense when I create and I get lost in the detail. So this painting is definitely much simpler than what I usually do..
Vincent & Agatha’s Dinner Night Out
Vincent and Agatha are the mascots for my business. Vincent is a handsome tuxedo cat named after one of my favourite celebrities – Vincent Price. Agatha is named after one of my favourite authors – Agatha Christie.
This acrylic on canvas is 24″ x 60″ in size. and the little dead mouse on the corner is named Rip aka R. I. P. I try to feature Rip in any artwork I create that features Vincent and Agatha.
The original for this piece of art is not available but I will be making smaller canvas prints of it at about 1/4 the size as well as regular prints and cards.
Cat Masquerade
I created and SOLD “Cat Masquerade” around 2010. Acrylic paint on canvas.
Well, let’s see, I LOVE cats, masks, masquerade parties and I had a lot of fun incorporating all of those elements when I made this painting. It is always a mixed feeling of excitement and sadness when I sell a piece of my art…
Love Crows
I created this acrylic on canvas in 2011 and it is SOLD.
Yes I am a romantic at heart and I love the night and full moon. A lot of my work is about the night, love, devotion and yes the full moon.
Every full moon Mr. Crow collects roses for his beloved and brings them to her.
I Beckon You
I created “I Beckon You” back in 2010 on canvas.
Every full moon the black cat brings roses to the window and beckons his beloved to run and explore with him until the light of day..
Party Animals
Two small acrylic paintings on canvas that I completed and SOLD back I believe in 2009 or 2010. Party Cats were a lot of fun to create.
I prefer to work with pencil more than I do acrylic paint but every now and then I enjoy doing a painting.
Cat City
Cat City is a 3’x 5′ painting I did a few years ago.
Welcome to Cat City. Cat City is a place where all the naughty cats go and play every night especially under the light of a full moon. Here you will find lots of gambling joints, speak easies, bordellos, catnip dens and other nefarious activities that take place here…
So if you dare venture to cat city on a warm summer night you had better watch your back!
Tut
I LOVE all things Egyptian and wanted to do a themed piece of art for many years.
I was at a yard sale when I lived in Idaho for a while and came across this huge canvas that they were selling for three dollars.. It was unused and in amazing conditions so I purchased it. I didn’t paint on it until I moved back to Canada.
“Tut” is the very first acrylic painting I have ever done. He is on a 48”x60” canvas. I have an emotional attachment to him but if someone really wanted him I would sell him…. I think. lol
Spirit Sisters
“The Spirit Sisters” were the second, third and fourth acrylic painting I had completed. All three originals are no longer available.
The far left is Spirit Sister of Night Moon, The Middle is Spirit Sister of Love and the far right is Spirit Sister of War.
